Beautiful! I had a lovely day last week along the Embankment, South Bank and in St James' Park under the shade of giant beeches. The city was gorgeous, lots of happy people milling around 💚

Fantastic day yesterday at the Political Studies Association conference. Looking forward to presenting on how we can support young people's learning for democracy @psayoungpol.bsky.social Especially important to hear their voices now in climate emergency & with authoritarianism on the rise. #PSA75

It is heartbreaking & I can't believe this is where we're at in our 'evolution'(?). When we experienced a bereavement, my kids started to call ours 'furrapy' (or therapy) cats. Being in the moment with a contented cat... One currently sitting in my in-tray so often I put a cushion in it 🙄

Ooh, my blueberries are revealing their 'New Look'. Whatever they're going for this season, I'm sure it'll be berry nice!

Sarah, your paintings are stunning and beautifully capture where I grew up ❤️ I sometimes nip back to X to catch up on news of your boys. My own rapscallion was out recently one day & all night, back a bit cocky the next morning. I felt sure they'd inducted him down the Legion 😬😁

Crowd cheering the band at a gig tonight. A stranger turned round beaming & said "This is why we're alive!" Precious moments of unity ❤️

Fabulous markings! I've experienced that initial delight at spotting them then horror at the carnage. We do have seasonal signs that go up near us that hopefully make a difference

Gorgeous! I feel like I'm entering Wes Anderson's world!

And now he's called in reinforcements (so he can nap) I'm screwed!

As if a 1000 piece jigsaw wasn't challenge enough, this one has a scary gatekeeper 😬

Can't help feeling Rep. Earl Carter's bill to acquire Greenland and rename it Red, White and Blueland could be the simpering behaviour of a courtier to a whimsical imperial monarch? #Blackadder www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

So stunning! Cafes at old train stations are great. Not knocking the artwork but coffee at the Musée d'Orsay was also a highlight!

Saw this creepy figure on a walk today. Lost or abandoned toy? A portent? The missing hand, bare legs (thankfully something to cover his modesty if he has any), his arm raised dramatically. What is he trying to tell us? What does M stand for? 🤔

Hmm, didn't realise how much my music choices echo my research (environment, place, politics👋). Don't guilt me on how I found the time Spotify, I was working!

Deeply moved by @martinhibbert.bsky.social's Top of the World. Having survived the Manchester Arena bombing, now in a wheelchair, he's become a powerful advocate for survivors & raised £1 million for spinal injury charities by summiting Kilimanjaro. Open, witty, generous. A brilliant tour de force

In Rathlin: A Wild Life environmental campaigner, conservationist, farmer Ruby Free describes living, at just 21, at RSPB nature reserve on this remote, biodiverse island. Introduced to a rhythm of bird & sealife focused on puffins, corncrakes, seals, dolphins. Joyful, hopeful and a call to action

Illuminating. Michael Malay with @robertmacfarland.bsky.social at @kendalmountainfest.bsky.social. An Indonesian Australian living in UK, exploring migration, belonging, environmental loss through less-loved edge species eels, moths, crickets, mussels. Wondered at by ancestors, possible future hope.

Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock came fresh from talking to hundreds of Cumbrian schoolchildren @kendalmountainfest.bsky.social, sharing a passion for young people to dream big in STEM creatively (STEAM). Awe-inspiring to hear a space scientist talk in 'the vernacular'(!)about the James Webb Space Telescope

Great interview of Derek Gow by fellow conservationist @leeinthelakes.bsky.social for @kendalmountainfest.bsky.social Hunt for the Shadow Wolf explores mythology & history of wolves in Britain & reconciling our relationship with them. Gow's message: Stop tinkering. Take bold action to save species

A most moving talk by Three Dads Walking - Tim, Mike, Andy - who found each other following the loss of their daughters to suicide. The trio's epic fundraising walks help raise awareness & create a community for others grieving. Supporting brilliant (UK) charity Papyrus. Hopeline 247: 0800 068 41 41
