So basically the character Tino from Disney’s The Weekenders is his version of ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ (both have a single mom, movie obsessed, hangs out on the beach with his friends in California)?

Just some summer action figures pictures. It’s very snowy today and I’m feeling nostalgic for summer.

“The greatest cabinet ever for the greatest president ever, sir”!

Trump nods off while being told he’s the only person on planet earth who can stop the war.

Any time they can think of a reason to put Sugar Man in a comic is a good day.

Coincidence, I just watched him over Halloween in the Hammer film The Man Who Cheated Death and his performance was captivating. Unhinged sociopath and yet vulnerable sympathetic. A perfect supervillain archetype.

Watching Doctor Who (63-89) and a take I’m starting to develop is that before Tom Baker, it really is a (interesting) Kids Show. During the Baker era it’s targeted audiences switched to a different, older demographic.
Now seeing some Peter Davidson ones it’s back to being “for kids” again.

I’ve been Volunteered (VolunTOLD?) into working on a production of Fun Home, the hit musical based on Alison Bechdel’s autobiographical graphic novel.
I’m the stage crew. It’s my job to move a bed in stage.
Big responsibility!

Carrie is most famous for the bucket of blood scene, but there’s this funny little bit where the boys are buying tuxedos and for no reason he speeds up the dialogue for 3 seconds so they sound like chipmunks. Credit to Brian DePalma found a fun way to break up a boring scene! 😄

I want him to write more Bat comics about bladder spasms.

25th Anniversary of X-Men: Evolution.
Huge part of my early fascination with this team. X-Men by way of Buffy, which was perfect for the time.

Newest Marvel Epic collection of X-Men is now $69cad (used to be a bit more than fifty) and in comparison this DC Finest is still holding around at the fifty dollar mark, with a higher page count.
What the heck Marvel?

You know what’s a funny coincidence about Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street?
1985 they both put out a new movie (Part V and Part II, respectively) and their both some of the lowest quality films of each franchise.

For some Halloween watching this week, I recommend ‘Dracula, Sovereign of the Dammed (1980)’ a Japanese animated adaptation of the last 20 or so issues of Marv Wolfman’s Tomb of Dracula comics from the 70’s in all their dark soap opera glory.

Just thinking about the DCAU and how solid it is all together, and how it’s DONE.
Like, other than two direct to video movies that are fun little things it’s a closed dance hall. And I kind of appreciate that about it.

Digimon Tamers is the Twin Peaks of the Digimon series.

I’m feeling nostalgic for Inuyasha so I’m watching Inuyasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time (2001).

A bright and beautifully animated film, but it’s a little bit boring. It so wants to be Princess Mononoke. It’s like a really long episode.
6/10

My opinion on “Abridged Series” is that they where funny YouTube videos 10 years ago but it’s similar to the MST3K problem of Irony Overdose where smug jokers think they’re smarter than sincere artists and that gives them the right to harass them.

I saw this big ol’ chunky Spawn book that collects everything Spawn from 2019 to present.
I tried to read it. Failed. Wept.
It’s for someone else but not for me. I hope they enjoy it.
At least it’s not AI.

The Silver Snails original location on Queen St. 2007 Vs 2025.

Prime example of how gentrification evolved in Toronto to make everything unique and interesting into homogeneous slop.

Liefeld shoulder pads where just such a part of 90’s design trend that even Star Wars couldn’t escape it.
