Also 0 isn’t like a far off prequel, it takes place a few months before 1. Octopath 1 characters (and villains) do show up in the story and they’re where you’d expect them to be. That you can recruit them is a bit of fanservice though yeah

Those aren’t actually the gacha characters, they’re OCs. The only playable gacha characters Octopath 0 transferred over are the Octopath 1 characters and the characters critical to the story who join you. I guess they didn’t want to spit in the faces of those who played the gacha and give away

Cold Steel 2 as well i still think is a pretty fun and solid game I enjoyed a lot too.
For games that we didn’t get localized until later, Utawarerumono Mask of Truth and Persona 5 were great as well.

Oh and the switch 1 performance on 2 issue is disappointing, I get these things take time but it would be nice to know which games are in the pipeline for patches, if they are happening at all…(xenoblade)

That said, i’ll be getting one for sure (eventually) when the really big nintendo hitters come. My deck has made me much more into portable gaming and the switch 2 looks like a much much better portable experience than switch 1 was. I hope I can hold out for the OLED switch 2 model.

Yeah lol its part of the reason I like it, only act 3 in that game is bad to me For Reasons. The rest moves pretty smoothly thanks to the route system imo

When i first played Reverie i thought it was this was gonna be a “fandisc” thing but nope Kuro 2 and Horizon both use it. Also makes Reverie feel more “mainline” in retrospect too lol. Honestly its probably the best formula Kiseki has had for the reasons you mentioned

Octopath 0 will be up there by the time i finish and an excellent game, but the only reason I bought it on PS5 was to use up some JP store credit I had left over.
Also ive been playing it on deck a lot anyway by streaming with Chiaki lol

This console may be cooked but at least DS2 made it feel worth owning for about 40 hours this year
