This week, we welcomed @marilynnjohnson.bsky.social as a visitor. Next to the talk she gave, which will be uploaded to our Youtube Channel soon, the week was filled with discussions on the philosophy of archaeology, historical reenactment, and Taylor Swift, among other things. Good days!

Last week, we had Leonidas Tsilipakos (University of Bristol) with us as visiting scholar. Leonidas gave a talk and we discussed a manuscript of his in our internal seminar, next to all kinds of social events. Our webpage is currently under reconstruction, but contact us if you also want to visit!

Yesterday, visiting scholar Leonidas Tsilipakos (University of Bristol, UK) gave the talk "Max Weber: philosopher of historiography" with the Centre. It was a great talk with a very interesting discussion. One thing is sure, Weber deserves more attention in the philosophy of history.

We had a great workshop yesterday on "Historical Contingency" with Gregory Radick and Robert Northcott.Now our seminar will go on summer break. But stay tuned, we'll be back in autumn, by necessity, with more events on contingency and else!

Yesterday, we held the workshop "Pragmatist Philosophy of History" with Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen. It was a lively discussion of the main issues of his forthcoming book "Doing, Knowing and Getting it Right". Look out for the book and a planned publication based on the workshop.

For the last two days, our very own @david-cernin.bsky.social and @ggangl.bsky.social taught in the international course "Pluralism in History" at the University of Ružomberok, Slovakia. There were students from 3 countries, and it was a very engaging event with lots of discussion.
