Garielle Lutz's 'The Sentence is a Lonely Place' is a great read for prose writers

which is funny bc I don't care for the content of Lutz's stories all that much; her writing however is fuckin mind blowing

(anyway I've been trying to read more contemporary work and this has been my experience with contemporary genre fic thus far. these are just my opinions ok)

I love genre fic and the depth of planning and thought that goes into developing their worlds

I wish genre fic writers wrote more....lyrically?

the content is good, gripping even, but the writing itself is uninteresting. purely a method to tell the story rather an art form itself.

I'm a terrible judge at that just by reading the description on the box but it got decent reviews online

I love the world cup! I think sports are an amazing way to engender community. Unfortunately it is all too exploitative; mega sports in particular have trampled all over their host cities. We should be able to come together celebrate sports without the loss of livelihoods and lives.

regardless if FIFA comes to Seattle or not, I hope @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social will stay true to her platform under the coming intense corporate pressure. I'm sure many big sponsors are gonna come offering $$$ for their preferred solutions.
