"Mi Camino" specifically... probably the best song from a movie musical all decade if not all century up to this point. An absolutely beautiful song.

5. Everyone focuses on that ridiculous song when Zoe Saldana goes to Thailand and they're singing about sex change operations, but there are 2 or 3 very good songs in it that were more in line with a classic movie musical.

4. Selena Gomez was good in it, but her Spanish was what it was. But that's okay and doesn't matter as her character was clearly not meant to be Mexican. So why does this bother people? Because her last name is Gomez she's supposed to speak Spanish without an American accent?

3. I told some people that I was thinking maybe the movie was supposed to be a dark comedy when I first went into it a few weeks ago and never finished. Having finished it now, no, definitely not meant to be a dark comedy.

2. It didn't need to be a musical. It shouldn't have been a musical. But that it was a musical played and amplified the theme of alienation in the movie, I don't know if that was done purposefully or it's just a coincidence. Regardless, it worked out that way.

1. It's not a bad movie. It's a good movie. Is it "let's nominate it for every movie award ever!" good? No. But it's still worthy of some praise and one of the better movies about alienation I've seen in some time.
