I also want to be clear, this isn't to say you should take their abuse. YOU deserve happiness, safety, and a full belly, too.

The moment you start thinking someone doesn't deserve to feel safe, or that they don't deserve a meal when they are hungry, is the moment they stop being "people" to you.
And once you draw that line, it becomes all too easy to push others over it.
