Sept 2025 Layla came into our home from ‘All Dogs Matter’ rescue
She is a black mini labradoodle, about 7 years old

I was surprised earlier today though when I put doggy liver paste on her licky mat for her. She wouldn't touch it - very weird especially since she is half labrador. Meris absolutely loved that stuff.

Layla is not allowed on furniture except when the cover is put on and she has been invited up. She certainly makes herself very comfy when she does get there though

Layla knows how to play fetch, didn't bring it all the way back this time but she did next time so a quick learner.
No video but OH threw ball into hedge later. We couldn't find it but Layla did - not a spaniel nose but good enough

Yesterday was stressful for all with long car journey in and out of London.
Learning quickly and all adapting to each other today so more hopeful ...

Our oak tree is getting some care to make it even more beautiful. Apparently it could be more than 100 years old and we have had the pleasure of watching it grow for nearly 40 of those years

This morning I cut Meris's claws and hit the quick on one making her bleed just a little.
This evening I cut my finger and nail with the food processor blade and bled into our dinner.
Realised while eating that the Welsh witch may have hexed me 🧙♀️ 🐶
