Important follow up to the birding post. My parents met on a birding trip in college, which was clearly a success. They were less successful in getting their kids into birding, as evidenced by this photo of one of my earliest birding trips.

My parents are visiting from the Midwest and within 30 minutes of arriving they were already birding from the living room. They were so excited to add new birds to their yearly list. My dad asked awhile back if I had heard of this app called Discord, where he has joined a local birding server 😂

Finished this book last night and it was extremely comforting during this tumultuous time. A beautiful, always-needed reminder that "There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for." Highly recommend especially for any nature enthusiasts.
