ALSO, the digital footprint the Google AI tool accesses isn’t even accurate. For example , Google AI mode thinks me and my deadname are cofounders of an organization that no longer exists (thinks its current. Stay safe 🖤

I’d only recommend paying for a service if you have a large footprint. Everyone exists to some extent online these days (if they don’t that’s an orange flag)! Focus on curating your digital footprint going forward.

You can contact sites with information about you and ask that information to be removed . This isn’t a guarantee, some sites are malicious or do not care. You can pay to have your information removed if you have the financial resources available however:

You also need to check websites like linkedin if you’ve had a legal name change. Your URL before your name change is likely your previous name and when you google your new name, if you didn’t make a fresh linkedin account, your previous name is now linked to your new name.

Some steps you can take : Google has a content removal form : support.google.com/websearch/an... you can have personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, and information that can be used to doxx you. They won’t remove general information though.

You will also have to have it removed from archival services like the wayback machine. Removing this information will not save you from more powerful government tool searches (once it’s on the Internet - it’s forever, sorry) but it will save you from your MAGA coworker googling you to look for dirt

You can choose to Google yourself or not (if you do use a quality VPN, I’m not the best person to advise on cybersecurity so maybe research steps). Read your summary. If it’s suspicious looking , save the indexed results and work through getting this information removed from the internet.

If you Google yourself using this AI-mode tool a brief summary comes up including all of your online activity with sources to summarize this new footprint of you. This search is indexed. The government will almost certainly be using this tool to compile lists of names.
