Sobek could be fierce/hostile but was also a protective deity.

Editing for the Psychgeist of Pop Culture (@drkowert.bsky.social) is truly a pleasure - I get to re-up on my cosmogony & metaphysics/religious studies background. Every time I reread these classic books it makes me excited for the mythic structures & figures that populate our everyday lives.
I’ve been deferalizing a group of 5 kittens that appeared on my stoop - we’ve neutered, vaxxed, dewormed/fleed them but I’m fostering so we can get them into some happy (& warm!) homes!
They are not ready yet, but here is a nice picture of Samwise the cat showing that everything is going well!
