Couldn't tell how many were out in Milwaukee yesterday because I couldn't see the beginning nor the end of the crowds of people stretching out on Wisconsin Ave. in front of the Federal Building. I know the police had to block several streets.

This photo, taken 80 years ago, reminds me of the privilege I had to care for WWII veterans as a VA nurse, where I did the best work of my nursing career, the work of which I am the most proud. I'm grateful to have served the American people as a federal employee.

I stand in place of my Dad, who went to his grave in the spring of 2024, worried about where our nation was headed, worried for the future of his his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
