I was training myself to be a computational neuroscientist. That's on hold since I've had LC for the last 16
17 months. Fuck covid. 🏴🚩

Is frustrating when people use being initially bad at writing or drawing as a reason to use AI. This ignores two things:

(1) a core aspect of getting good at a skill is doing it badly over and over again.

(2) often the joy of creation is its own reward (irrespective of whether it's good or not).

The quotes that made me transition:

Karl Marx - a person under communism "strives not to remain something he has become, but is in the absolute movement of becoming".

ghost in the shell - "all things change in a dynamic environment. Your effort to remain what you are is what limits you".

This is everything I’ve done to recover from longcovid

And I’m now at the point now where the only things I use every day are the nicotine patches, taurine, stinging nettle, propranolol and antihistamines
My current updated protocol for managing long covid, ME/CFS, MCAS, POTS, Fibromyalgia.

Losing my mind reading about the history of sexism in science. In the 19th century men used the second law of thermodynamics to argue that women should be excluded from school/work because they cannot be heathy, labour, and menstruate at the same time.

The brain expresses activity in complex patterns, reflecting the influence of cytoarchitectural, biochemical & genetic properties.
Eigenstrapping is our method for inferring the similarity between two such brain maps while excluding spurious (chance) relationships
