welp. today i couldn't get much done because i jumped a couple dozen light years away and failed to find this stupid NPC ship and ended up docking in a station in the middle of Fucking Nowhere™️
i have no clue how to follow the low wake of an NPC or how to even find them in the first place

a. using this as an elite dangerous thread
b. i fetched my old flight stick from storage (picture related) and i gotta say that it feels.. better? to fly with it-- i dislike that the throttle is in an awkward position and i use my split keyboard for most commands anyways. works well enough

you can work as a space taxi ?!!?
I'd love to do this, it feels like it'd fall somewhere between ETS2 and space trucking !!

also little pride moment to say that this only does 3 API calls: one to Nominatum to list the from addresses, another for destination and another for the here.com routing API. everything else is stored in memory, so this is app is network efficient and stores data even if you lose network 🥳

woke up, did some house chores and got route selection working surprisingly easily with a new route detail screen (placeholder). this was much easier than i thought

also refactored internally cause i had dataclasses spread out and hit circular imports 🥴
i'm 🤏 this close to getting a v1 done

for technical reference, it uses OSM's Nominatum to query your to/from and get exact gps coordinates and then pipes a public transport query into here.com 's public routing API

honestly wasn't too bad to use either API, just had to make some custom textual events and classes for data-wrapping
