Et pour-tant, alors que nous nous inquiétons d'un déclin démographique et culturel, nous fermons la porte à des populations francophones qui pourraient etre nos plus proches alliées.
La Fédération autonome de l'enseignement a eu le courage de porter cette bataille du côté de la justice - pas seulement juridique, mais sociale et humaine. Elle a refusé l'idée que la liberté professionnelle et la dignité de certaines femmes puissent être sacrifiées pour rassurer une insécurité iden-citaure héritée d'un autre siècle.
Qu'on soit en accord ou non avec sa démarche, il faut reconnaître la cohérence d'un mouvement qui, à la base, enseigne l'ouverture, la pensée critique et la rencontre.
Si la loi 21 divise tant, c'est u elle nous oblige à choisir entre leux modèles de société. L'un re pose sur la peur de l'autre et la réduction de la diversité. L'autre repose sur la mutualité, c'est-à-dire a conviction que nos conditions d'existence - culturelles, démo-cratiques, sociales - s'améliorent non pas quand on exclut, mais quand on élargit le cercle de celles et ceux qui peuvent contribuer.
Nous avons longtemps voulu être un « petit peuple » qui se protège.
Peut-être est-il temps de devenir un grand peuple qui accueille.
Car la véritable menace qui pese sur nous n'est pas la présence de femmes voilées dans les écoles, mais l'appauvrissement démocratique qui survient lorsqu'une majorité s'autorise à décider qui mérite d'ap-partenur a la communauté politique.

BC's far-right party OneBC attempted to introduce Bill M-225, a flag ban, in the Legislature yesterday. The intention of the bill was to specifically ban Pride flags, transgender flags, and Palestine flags from being raised on provincial property.

Dallas Brodie: I move that a bill intituled Public Flags Display Act, of which notice has been given in my name on the order paper, be introduced and read a first time now.
The Speaker: Please proceed.
Dallas Brodie: If you want to preserve a nation, you start by preserving its icons and its symbols — the very essence of its heritage. After years of anti-Canadian rhetoric and the talking down of our proud heritage and national excellence, the Canadian flag and the British Columbian flag are now regularly removed and replaced throughout the year with flags that champion certain ideologies and foreign nations.
The solution is clear. OneBC’s Public Flags Display Act will prohibit the flying of any flags on provincial property other than the Canadian national flag, British Columbia’s provincial flag and municipal flags.
The Palestinian flag was raised over city halls in Toronto, Calgary and others elsewhere across Canada earlier this month. Here at our own Legislature, a provincial flag was lowered last week and replaced with the transgender flag.
This bill will prevent that from ever happening again in British Columbia. Our government and its symbols must represent our people and their heritage, not ideology or foreign states. There is no reason to replace our flags in the name of inclusion. The B.C. and Canadian flags already include all of us in this glorious country and this wonderful province.

This report concerns Mr. Mickey Amery and Ms. Danielle Smith, respectively Ministers of Justice and Premier of the province of Alberta (in Canada).
By application of Bill 9, introduced on 2025/11/18 at the Alberta Legislature, said government has explicitly stated that the right to life of trans youth is being removed, in order to allow a ban on gender-affirming healthcare to come into law (such a ban was proposed through Alberta Bill 26, proposed in a video by Danielle Smith on/around 2024/01/30 and passed into law in December 2024). Mr Mickey Amery introduced Bill 9 on 2025/11/18, at the direction of Ms Danielle Smith's government.
Canada is a member of the International Criminal Court, yet is unable to do anything about prosecuting [politicians for their official acts under domestic laws, owing to parliamentary immunity.]
We are of the opinion that this conduct constitutes genocidal intent towards trans youth, a group which evidence - including the Trevor Project's study: (2024, USA) and evidence produced in Egale Canada v Alberta, 2025 ABKB 394 (Canl.II) - shows that banning gender-affirming healtheare for trans youth can create an up to 72% increase of suicide for trans youth.

En cette veille d'élections municipales, un grand pourcentage de la population montre-alaise est encore indé-cis. Ensemble Montréal mène dans les sondages, Projet Montreal suit — une partie du vote « de gauche » ayant migre vers Transition Montréal → alors qu Action Montréal a reussi a se hisser au troisième rang des intentions de vote en inondant les réseaux sociaux d'appuis répétés émanant d'un faible nombre de personnes. Cette tactique a
un nom : l'astroturfing.

Montréal lorsque la stratege de marque
Sonya Bacon a synthétisé le phénomène LinkedIn. Tirant son appellation du gazon artificiel AstroTurt, lastroturfing consiste à multiplier les messages semblant provenir d'un vrai mouvement de base (grassroot »), mais qui, dans les faits, sont orchestrés par des organisa-tions. L'objectif : « fabriquer artificiellement une apparence de soutien populaire pour influencer l'opinion publique », écrit Bacon. En 2012, un groupe pro-Kremlin a ainsi financé un vaste réseau d'activistes et de faux profils en ligne pour créer l'illusion d'un très fort soutien à Vladimir Poutine, rapportait The Guardian. La tactique, aussi utilisée par les lobbys pétroliers et du tabac, est ré-pandue. Mais à l'heure où le capital algorithmique favorise ouvertement les contenus polarisants et qui penchent à droite, l'astroturfing se montre profitable dans cette élection municipale montréalaise - la première depuis que Meta a banni les médias canadiens en 2023.
Action Montréal n'a évidemment pas les moyens des oligarques russes ou d'ExxonMobil, mais, de manière concertée ou non, le parti de Gilbert Thibodeau a notamment pu compter sur la page « Parti Patriote » pour mousser sa visibilité.
