On its 13th anniversary, we remember the #Chevron #Richmond Refinery Fire and the 15,000+ people it sent to doctors and hospitals. A settlement of $5 million for this fire, followed by another for broader harms at $550 million, is just the start of the accountability for #BigOil that we deserve.

Happy #Juneteenth! We're celebrating but we all still know racial injustice is far from over. Racist land use policies and white supremacy brought us to a world where Black and brown neighborhoods across the US are disproportionately enduring the health impacts of pollution and the fight continues!

Community power staying strong. On 4/8, 30+ of us turned up to the LADWP Board meeting to say NO to the Scattergood Power Plant Modernization Project, which would retrofit the gas plant to burn up to 30% hydrogen and 70% methane by 2029 😷💨

The impact of redlining goes far beyond housing. Decades later, these same redlined neighborhoods are #environmentaljustice communities—”sacrifice zones” where polluting industries are concentrated and residents experience significant environmental and health impacts. (3/7)
