"We have to learn how to digitally disobey."

Compelling talk by a journalist who was attacked by the right wing machine.

Yes. This is not normal.
This is not normal. This government gets closer and closer every day to declaring war on its own people.

This post is a clear and direct statement of intention to defy the Supreme Court and end rule of law in the United States.

Dismantling Democracy is not cheap.
"A Wall Street Journal analysis of daily financial statements issued by the Treasury Department found government spending since the [Trump] inauguration is $154 billion more than in the same period in 2024 during the administration of former President Joe Biden."
See How Government Spending Is Up Even as Musk Touts Savings
The Musk team’s estimated $150 billion in savings barely makes a dent in $6.8 trillion of expenditures largely on autopilot, a WSJ analysis finds.

NASA’s budget would be slashed nearly in half under Trump’s current proposal to Congress—a move that would wipe out billions in ongoing and future missions. Wonder who that benefits? (Sarcasm, of course.)

Isn't Vance the same sad, small person was just in Europe, lecturing them about the importance of freedom of speech?

The mad king is in charge and there is no strategy.
The markets may have recovered a bit, but America's reputation is in the toilet.
Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

Since when does this administration give any consideration to other countries' "legal rationale"s
Overnight, attorneys for Kilmar Abrego Garcia filed a short but satisfying bonus reply brief with SCOTUS, taking issue with two brand-new factual claims in the govt's latest brief. 🧵 www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24...

@jamellebouie.net's thoughtful piece on what motivates Trump to destroy everything leans toward the "mad king" theory, which makes a lot of sense.

But can we consider that Putin and/or Xi may be pulling the strings on our useful idiot of a president?

How long before the lick spittle, Stephen Miller is placed in charge of a newly formed Department of Re-Education. Camps will be filled with 1st amendment proponents.
how many of these have to happen before universities' governing boards give up on the delusion that they alone have the ability to cut a deal that will allow them to continue with business as usual?

More coalition building and less capitulating to madman.
I hope other university alliances start pooling resources and engaging in the kinds of collective action Rutgers is proposing here for the Big Ten.

We've sunk so low that Fox "News" is pushing back against the weasels and sycophants.
If this were true at least one of them would have been announced over the weekend to stop the sell-off, but the dithering chief executive can't even cut a sweetheart deal with Israel.
EARHARDT: If you're saying that Trump is waiting on great deals, and 50 countries have already come to the table, have any of them been great deals? Good enough for him?

HASSETT: When he does, he's gonna sign with that big long beautiful signature and he will have made a great deal for America
