Thames Water is in crisis. Why would the Chancellor of the Exchequer appoint someone from a firm who lobbies on their behalf?

Private firms should be nowhere near Thames Water.

Incredibly infuriating to press the button then stand and wait for 30 seconds (or more!) before the lights change. Why? What’s the justification? Why would you leave a pedestrian, exposed to the elements, standing waiting to allow cars to continue on?
