More from yesterday at CPA Day at the Gold Dome.

Tax laws impact real people and real businesses. CPAs play an important role in helping lawmakers understand how policy works in practice and where details matter most.

Grateful to be part of the conversation.

Spent the morning at CPA Day at the Gold Dome with the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Tax law works better when the people writing it understand how it functions in real life. That is why CPAs show up to explain impact, administration, and details that matter.

More soon!

In this feature, I wrote about a simple reality. Intent is not a plan. Tax law and written documents decide outcomes.

If you care about what happens after you are gone, this is worth reading.

118 years strong. My line sisters and I are also celebrating 36 years this year, which still feels wild to say.

Honored to be part of this legacy.

Very on brand for me to wear a Bah Humbug hat and still enjoy the holidays in my own way.

I bought myself a gift that made me laugh and honestly, that felt like a win.

I enjoy being a Grinch. What’s your non-traditional holiday habit that you love anyway?

Holiday road trip means snacks, music, and ethics CPE.

And no, my husband still doesn’t know who my clients are. That’s not a secret. That’s ethics. 😂

If you’re listening to CPE while heading to family Christmas, I see you.

Happy holidays, everyone! 🎄✨

We have a lot of runoffs in Georgia, and it is hard to keep up with all of them. But, I did my duty yesterday! Phew. Right under the 7pm radar.

So much of what our elected leaders do impacts daily life. With all the noise, that is easy to forget. But it matters.

After years of being told, “You need to write a book”… I’m finally listening.

It’s humbling to know people value the way I explain how taxes touch every part of life. That encouragement stuck with me.

I’ve taken the first step, and I’m ready to write.

Let’s see where this journey leads.

Over the years, many have encouraged me to write a book.

It’s affirming to know people value how I explain how taxation touches every part of life.

Over the weekend, I met with the amazing team of Taurea Avant, Brian Johnson, and Ash Exantus, masterminding with fellow authors.

Pen to paper soon!

Last week, I had the honor of accepting the Georgia Society of CPAs Meritorious Award on behalf of Art Auerbach at this year’s Fall Leadership Council.

I’ve never met another CPA quite like Art. Stay tuned for a follow-up video when I deliver the award to him in person!

Yes… getting my compliance nerd on while swapping notes with other nonprofit professionals is actually fun for me. 😄

Details matter. Mission stays clear. Always.

In the most professional manner possible, I must say, WTF. (𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸 👇🏾 )

Tax law just got flipped. There was always a tradeoff for being tax-exempt. Now, apparently, not so much.

I think I’ll start a church.

This might not seem like a big deal to folks outside the profession, but it is.👇🏾

Exciting to see more pathways to becoming a CPA. Not everyone can afford a 5th year of college, and the work goes way beyond just “tax” or “audit.” It gets joked on, but it’s a great profession.
