I felt my only earthquake around that time, too (I was in Maine). I was working evening hours at a doctor’s office housed in a very old building and we were all sure the boiler had finally blown!

Hmmm, we I have definitely known that phrase from well before memes were even a thing, so it for sure originated before that! I think it’s just one of those unattributable sayings that gets a lot of play at certain [historical bonfire] times.

That wouldn’t surprise me at all, but that doesn’t make it any less a part of the vernacular of the state and just a general part of the lore. And, it lends itself nicely to “dirigo” and all that.

I’ve been playing a LOT of Fable 2 and I really appreciate how the narrative basically straight up says “once you do this, you cannot go back, go finish your unfinished business” and I’m immediately in side quest mode.

This was one of those books that I was like “ugh, sure, I’ll read it” thinking it was going to draaaag but I loved it SO MUCH. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn was another!
