New bills need to be reintroduced when a Parliamentary session starts. With all parties responsible for updating Canada's privacy laws, and with all parties saying they are committed to doing so, hopefully it won’t be delayed too long.

As part of Justin Trudeau's recent resignation announcement, he requested a “prorogation” of Parliament until 24 March. Prorogation kills every bill under consideration to become law, including Bill C-27, the proposed update to current private sector privacy law.
