3. Why be involved with TCOS?
Being able to have an active say in the direction of my profession through involvement in the Society is very important to me.

I am a Board member with FOREA (Chair of their Research Grant Committee and member of the Scholarship committee).
I also sit on two Editorial Boards: Strabismus and Journal of Binocular Vision and Ocular Motility.

Learning about how other countries practice is very
illuminating and gives me a broader understanding of Orthoptics, and the challenges and accomplishments my international colleagues have in their own countries.

Being able to represent TCOS, and Canadian Orthoptics at an international level is something I’m very proud to be able to do. I am Co-Chair of the IOA Research and Education committee, which taps into my wheelhouse of interest and to my organizational strengths.

1. How many years have you been a certified orthoptist? Certified in 1993 (32 years)

2. What position(s) do you currently hold and/or have held in the past in TCOS?
I have held 9 different positions over the years, as well as numerous positions on the COC since 2005.
