We just baked another 11 dozen Spritz cookies to replace the first 10 dozen we made last week. While some have been given as gifts, our cookie production line seems to have a serious problem with shrinkage.

This is the amazing cake that my son made for my birthday. He may be a chemist and nuclear scientist, but he also was the US bronze medalist for commercial baking in high school. TThe candles show my age in binary (although one candle got lit by accident) and the frosting is all real butter cream.

We had a beautiful day visiting the top of Mt. Wachusett today. We didn't see much foliage color, but we had roughly 50 miles visibility into VT and NH.

Sigh. You'd think the Social Security folks would know how interest works. Social security is increasing by 3.2% for 2024, not 3.2% per month. If it were increasing 3.2% per month, your payment would increase nearly 46% in 2024.

Incredible that British Airways flight 165 flew from London to Tel Aviv today -- and then turned around for security reasons and flew back to London, all without refueling! Kudos to the BA dispatching folks who anticipated possible disruptions to landing in Israel.
