Canada First, Freedom Always
@cda1stfreedmalways.bsky.social
Trying to bust up the irrational, low-information hate directed at Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada. Resisting American-style tribalism through information and mature discussion. Remember when it was ok to disagree with each other?
He’s been effectively doing that already.

In agreement about what? To my knowledge the two have never met or spoken.

Can you please purchase the pro license for your Slogan Bot. The free subscription just keeps repeating the same ones over and over.

Indeed we are, but this is less about vibes, for me at least, and more about seeing no rational reason to assert either claim. Sounds like "because I like him, but I don't like him."
January 8, 2026 at 7:07 AM
A lot of people here, a plurality it seems, sound pretty upset with him for not condemning the US' actions.
January 8, 2026 at 12:57 AM
So your argument boils down to two statements: only Carney can save Canada because only he can counter US tariffs through new trade, and that PP *wants* Canada to be annexed. I sorry, but I don't find either of those to be valid.
January 7, 2026 at 9:20 AM
Gauging by the reaction of most others here, I wouldn't say so.
January 7, 2026 at 2:29 AM
I don't find it particularly funny that our PM lied to our faces about this.
January 7, 2026 at 2:27 AM
I’m familiar with that claim. I’ve just never seen a credible explanation for how an elected Canadian government, under any banner, could or would make that happen.
January 7, 2026 at 2:26 AM
The truth will out.
January 6, 2026 at 3:30 AM
But this is what the Liberals asked for. Just eight months ago.
January 6, 2026 at 2:35 AM
You know, if I was a foreign actor trying to incite instability and public distrust in Canada's government, I might say something like that.
January 6, 2026 at 2:27 AM
So you approve of Maduro's removal?
January 6, 2026 at 2:23 AM
"Watch Carney try and fail to sound neutral in his public statement...check!

Watch the left turn on their beloved "Trump slayer" for not protesting in support of Venezuela'a (former) dictator...because it's only fascism when you're a right of centre leader in the US or Canada...check!"

What say you now?

I spoke with María Corina Machado today. I affirmed Canada’s support for a peaceful, Venezuelan-led transition of power — one that respects the democratic will of the Venezuelan people.

"Traitor"? The leader of Canada's Loyal Opposition? There will never be unity in Canada with people like you makes statements like that.

Have you listened to any other perspectives? I invite you to consider what this woman says. And I beg you to fix that American spelling of "humour" in your bio.

I keep bringing up valid points as evidence supporting my position, you tell me I'm whining and to look at the facts.

I'm getting the strong impression that you only want me to look at the facts that you've carefully curated to support a pre-made conclusion. Well, that certainly tracks.
January 3, 2026 at 8:44 PM
Facts that count? You mean like the increased dependence on food banks? The insane inflation on food we've been seeing since 2020? Our next to stagnant economic growth?
Dealing with Trump: Courage? He acts confident, maybe. Strength? He quietly removed tariffs and kisses his ass in meetings. So no.
January 3, 2026 at 11:16 AM
I'd agree with you except that other countries and the EU have negotiated deals with the US and that Carney build his ENTIRE ELECTION PLATFORM on stating that he's "dealt with Trump before" and was the best to do so now. And look at our economy in the meanwhile. If you think things are good, wow...
January 2, 2026 at 1:15 AM
Well, you don't know me so your insults aren't exactly spoiling my day. And I don't know you. If you're having a bad day, I hope it improves. If this is a reflection of who you are, I hope you find a path to happiness.

I told you I read everything. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Diversify? Sure. But Carney seems content to burn any remaining bridges with a massive market that we'd be foolish to think we can just pivot away from. What products are flying out the door to these new markets? Where are the trade deals?
'We will get an even better deal,' Carney says after Oval Office meeting with Trump | CBC News
Prime Minister Mark Carney said Wednesday Canadian and American officials are currently "negotiating terms" of a deal on tariffs a day after he met with the U.S. president to try and bring the trade w...

Yes, says a lot that I want a Canada where hard work means affording food, or planning to own a home in a safe neighbourhood. A Canada where the gov puts tax dollars to work for its people (not funding Cart-ography: tracking the birth, life and death of an urban grocery cart). Your anger say a lot.
January 1, 2026 at 6:17 PM
I read everything from the Tor Star to CBC to the National Post. Just like how every election I read every party's platform cover to cover. But if I "should know" then answering my question should be easy. Carney promised Canada a "better deal than CUSMA". Now he says "who cares?" It's reckless.
January 1, 2026 at 6:02 PM
Doing well!? How are you measuring that?
December 30, 2025 at 4:52 PM
What actual deals have been signed?
