Funded through our office – the sweeper costs just $5,000 plus operating expenses and provides an environmentally friendly way to keep bike lanes usable, even as the City faces budget challenges.
Unlike traditional sweepers, which are too large to fit into protected bike lanes, this custom-built device can navigate narrow lanes where leaves, trash, and debris often accumulate, creating hazardous conditions for bikers.

In 2024, here’s what our dedicated teams accomplished in District 13:
✅ Cleaned 660 alleys and streets
✅ Removed 3,125 illegally dumped items
✅ Cleared 245,890 pounds of litter
✅ Maintained 225 trees
✅ Abated over 86k square feet of weeds from public spaces

In District 13, we still have a handful of pedestrian tunnels that help kids get to school safely.
Recently, we worked with Vine St Elementary to secure their tunnel and power wash it to keep it clean. And this morning, we joined students and parents to paint a beautiful mural across the tunnel!
