So this story is way too long for BlueSky but really important! How can it get to the news! My friend ended up going to Guatemala with the deported persons DOG that was left behind in NYC!
Her son is still in NYC! Now with his dad! This woman was Gere for 20 years legally!

She has not been back to Guatemala in 20 years. Her three sons living there are grown-up, she hadn't seen them in 20 years. Her 16-year old son living here is an American citizen.

G is my age, she is a Guatemala citizen and was here legally in the US on an asylum visa. She came here 20 years ago after her life was threatened in her line of work as a policewoman. She has worked legally and paid taxes with a tax identification number for the past 20 years.

For the people that I work with: my medical leave precludes me from working, but it does not preclude me from traveling or walking.  I was not going to write about this at all, but I have had a very overwhelming week. 
I am telling my friend G's story. G and I have been friends for two years .
