Crucial question for a research-based zine no matter how long: what is it mostly about? What’s the main point/take-home? Get real clear on this and let it inform the text, images, etc.

(It is considered polite to give a nod to people or works that helped you, just like in academe—though zinesters are generally more polite and community/minded than academics. IKYK! I’m just saying.)

FWIW I’ve done “zine your research” workshops at conferences and plenty of folks have used my title/strategies. The great thing about DIY media is that there is bad faith theft (mostly monetizing other people’s ideas they shared for free and then presenting as your own), it’s everything 4 everyone
