Eventually, AI will become more efficient and will not need the massive amount of energy and real estate it needs today. But that is at least a couple of decades down the road. Then, the problem, yet again, will be what to do with the massive hunks of American ruins left behind.

When Memphis politicians market new employment opportunities, they try to sell the idea that poverty-stricken people would be first in line to fill those jobs. However, that is never the case anywhere, and they know it. That is how they rationalize supporting a controversial project like xAI.

Their reasoning is that Memphis will become an AI hotbed, which will reverse the city's downward spiral and provide employment. From what I have been able to gather, considering the massiveness of the projects, the labor needed is fairly low. AI is not the second coming of International Harvester.

To the leaders of a dying city, any attention is appreciated, even from a despicable person. It is similar to how low-esteem individuals often end up with awful partners. You settle for whoever gives you attention, which is what xAI does.

I heard all the hype way back when, but I didn't watch it. I started hearing all the hype again with the 2nd season coming so I decided I wanted to be a part of the second season. I caught up on the 1st season and have been watching the 2nd and at no point have I been pulled in.

When you consider that ONE Mississippi State football player got the Confederate symbol off the state flag, it shows how much power and leverage these guys have if they ever choose to use it. However, It took them way too long to use their leverage to get paid.
