P.E.I's legal minimum wage needs to increase. The province's minimum wage is currently $16 per hour, which is 30% short of the $22.77 per hour workers need to make ends meet: bit.ly/48cInGP

Despite recent increases, the minimum wage in Atlantic Canada is $6 to $12 short of what people need to cover basic living costs. The gap between what people need to earn & what the minimum wage has almost doubled since 2018. Learn more: bit.ly/2025livingwa...

PEI’s living wage stays the same this year, but housing & food costs continue to hit low-income households hard. While the govt has done some good work around public transportation, child care, taxation & a new child benefit, there’s much more to be done.

NL's living wage increased again. While some govt programs have blunted this increase, many fail to account for yrs of high inflation on essentials. There’s a need to increase eligibility cut-offs of govt programs so working people can qualify for much-needed supports.

NS's living wage increased again, at a rate similar to last yr. Inflation has generally slowed, but many workers in NS struggle to afford essentials. There is a need for improved working conditions, redistributive income supports, fair taxation, & to regulate the costs of essentials.
