I follow a lot of “finfluencers” on multiple platforms.

Some are fantastic. Others…. are not.

The 2-Year and 10-Year Treasury Yields are super close to inverting again.

Last year the 10-Year was essentially the same price. The 2-Year was about 40 bps higher.

Will we see another inverted yield curve as short term inflation expectations increase?

Credit card delinquencies are climbing.

Credit card balances are also still climbing (albeit more slowly).

Those two things are not necessarily a good match for each other.

People are borrowing more money and more people are struggling to pay it back.

The potential of new tax cuts is driving most of it.

Financial institutions have tightened credit on small businesses, will this be a hindrance to their expected growth?

GDP comes in at 2.3%.

Can the consumer keep going or will debt catch up to them?

Jobless claims also came in lower this morning.

With the hot inflation prints and relatively good economic numbers, will we see a pause in rate cuts?

Small survey, but it fits with the overall economic trend.

Can consumers continue their debt fueled spending frenzy to keep the economy growing or, with pandemic savings gone, will we see them soon top out and hit the brakes?

Duh. If we have to cut rates fast, that means there’s something wrong.

A good article on bank failures, why they happen and why they are a normal part of our banking system.

Also, explains why regulators shouldn’t pick winners and losers (big banks vs. small banks)
