Disability is a natural part of the human experience.

To the neurodivergent and disabled folks who may feel ostracized by the Trump administration's "autism announcement," you are enough. You are not a burden. You are supported. You are loved.

Disability is not the enemy.

Credit to the AP for this headline, which puts front and center the "unproven" and "without new evidence" absurdity of this farce. What a world when we decimate science and promote alternative facts. I feel for moms who will fear that treating pains of pregnancy means putting their children at risk.

"So still today, in the US, chemicals are innocent until proven toxic. Whether testing forever chemicals or microplastics, you and I are the lab rats. This uncontrolled pollution that puts profit over people is the enemy, not disability."

At our action team meeting yesterday, we discussed the article "Climate Change Is Ushering in an 'Age of Disability.'" The piece explores how artists and writers explore disability, debility, and environmental injustice.

September is #WorldAlzheimer'sMonth. Learn more & challenge the stigma by visiting www.worldalzmonth.org.

As climate advocates, we should educate ourselves on disabilities like Alzheimer's to be better allies, and also, since environmental factors can contribute to the development of the disease.
