Stop that. Newspapers have always, always had a variety of articles. In print days, you would probably put the lifestyle section to one side, but you wouldn't berate the paper for writing it and printing it.

Before the Internet, did you complain that newspapers printed sections that you didn't read? Newspapers are writing the sources of the histories of the future. Let them write about anything and everything.
