I was in the mood for steak. Pan seared and finished in the oven. Made a nice bourbon/balsamic reduction with butter, garlic, and shallots to go with it.

I took the challenge and, though I didn’t win in round 1, I’m quite proud to be in the top 15 and be awarded an honorable mention amidst such stiff competition. The three judges gave incredible positive feedback (swipe for each) that renewed my confidence. Overall, it was a fun challenge!

In the horror community, we are fortunate. We share a joy and passion for the macabre that binds us but, more importantly, it’s an exceedingly supportive and welcoming community where all voices in horror are welcome. Thank you all and may you have the happiest of holidays.

My short story, “The Gift,” is out now in this anthology! Enter the chilling world of "Das Gift," where holiday cheer cloaks sinister horrors. Twelve tales explore the dark side of giving, revealing gifts that are far from innocent. Here, Christmas spirit turns haunting, and generosity breeds dread.

We stand until we can’t stand any longer. We get back up until we’ve no more strength. We rise with hands united. Community and allies hold each other up. With that strength, we all stand together as one. We do not keep quiet, we do not stand down, we do not give up, and we do not forget. We stand.

This movie really worked for me. There are few one-person-one-room kind of things that work well, but when they do it’s pretty powerful. Buried definitely lets Ryan show his range while effectively keeping us freaked out. Definitely good for a rewatch if it’s been a while.
