🏗️The first pilot plant has been installed at the @upc.edu Campus Nord sports center, where BEEC’s potential for large-scale greywater treatment is being tested. This project was possible thanks to an award from the Barcelona City Council for innovative water-saving solutions in sports environments.

This project was possible thanks to an award from the Barcelona City Council for innovative water-saving solutions in sports environments.
🧪 BEEC is created by combining natural mineral materials, producing a composite that allows ion exchange and wastewater filtration. This technology can treat water from showers in sports facilities, making it safe to reuse for non-potable purposes, reducing overall water consumption 💦.

Yesterday, our researcher Prof. Luis Carlos Pardo and Rosa Ortiz Gimeno, director at Tibidabo amusement park, received the 2024 Premi Nacional de Comunicació Científica for the outreach project #Fisidabo 🧪🎡
