When I was a kid there was a wildcat around my grandmother’s farm in Ireland. Googling it suggests there weren’t any, but I saw it twice - 1979/80 - tawny coloured with small dark spots and tufted ears. The sheepdog and wildcat once came face to face and each bolted. Beautiful animal.
