My partner started selling Pokémon and Magic cards he’d collected over the years to make ends meet.

If our electric bill doubles because it’s winter and chilly now… I don’t know if we can handle it. I don’t know what to do.

Finally back home. Pharmacy wasn’t even open to pick up my Rx yet. Cats are yelling at me and chiding me for being gone. I’m need a shower and a good sleep.

Thanks 🖤🖤🖤 but I’m just tired and defeated. I want to go home, but the sunk-cost of the ER means I’m still here, waiting for results.

(I’m also mostly okay - urgent care sent me to the ER for imaging to rule out appendicitis and I’m just low priority without exhibiting more concerning symptoms.)

And during said bad seizure (which hospitalized her for the whole summer ‘07), because mumbled Czech sounds kinda like gibberish to your typical American healthcare workers, some of the nurses thought she was mentally handicapped. But she understood them fine! They just couldn’t understand her.

She fascinated her doctors with these language skills, and after some particularly nasty seizures/medication interactions in 2007, they did some heavy monitoring, neurosurgery, removed a piece of her brain, and she’s been seizure-free since!

Hot damn, it’s called bilingual aphasia?!

My mom suffered from a seizure disorder resulted from an incredibly high fever as a toddler. She is a polyglot, but we would know her petit mal seizures were near their end when she would start to responding to us, but *only* in Czech (her native tongue).
