I worked with Joan Mondale's initiative for American craftspeople to create decorations for the Christmas tree at the residence of the vice president.
Rosalyn Carter decorated the White House Christmas tree with handmade crafts.
Those were good times.

I believe volunteers have always been used to decorate the WH for Christmas.
Jill Biden used volunteers to decorate. It is a huge, labor-intensive project. Volunteer performers as well. (don't shoot me.)

Oklahoma did not start offering Real ID until June of 2020. The state's poor planning & implementation + Covid resulted in too many complications for many Oklahomans who just kinda ignored it. OK still offers the old style license. Many opted for that instead. And could do it online.

I think MAGA believed deep cuts would occur in the "big DC deep state bureaucracy full of faceless slaggards and liberals and drag queens", and DOGE would reward all the good civil servants in Red states.
