Bigger picture: Last year was extremely difficult for me in several respects, including some related to my health. The broken shoulder and ribs were the most dramatic issue but not the only one.

I am also giving up my bid for Olympic gold in the 2028 men's 50+ left-handed shot-put, but that was going to conflict with my cycling schedule anyway.

The only time that's relevant is when I have to get my food processor or another large kitchen appliance down from above my cabinet or put it back up there. I now use a stepping stool and both hands.

Now it's like it never happened. The only lingering effect, a small one, is that the strength in my left shoulder is slightly diminished when I'm reaching above my head.
