My only issue is how will Asa remember someone who was erased? Will it not impact her dream? Or are we assuming Pochitas erasure only extends to the flamethrower devil, not him?

I will admit I've been a bit confused why this seems like the nail in the coffin for you from like. A lore perspective
I can definitely see how this closes it off in a like- metaphorical and narrative way a bit? But I'm sure it's not a reach for death to unchar and kill his body. Yuko had worse

It's because he knows Denji actually cared about him. Denji is upset, he did truly like Yoshida, and he had a hard time verbalizing that because he's embarrassed that he liked a male figure again after Aki.

I mean, seriously. Every time we see this girl, it's a new scheme that's tacked on to the larger scheme. It's a plan that's constantly changing for her as well. Her desperation combined with her mystery has resulted in someone who reveals something new at EVERY opportunity. Absolute brilliance.

Oh for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if there's still twists about her dialogue from before the reveal, somehow.
I think going into part 2, the big question was "how do you top Makima?", and the answer wasn't to do one big plot twist, but rather make a character who twists the plot at EVERY turn

The way I’m viewing it is Asa still hasn’t had a moment of true selfishness. I feel like this HAS to build to her disobeying Yoru’s orders to stay put. She’s not responding because she’s hopeless right now, she’s numb. She’s been raped, doesn’t have HER arms, and has been forced to murder people-

I don’t see it tbh. I don’t see Fujimoto just. Not finishing her character arc. If she is dead, Death will revive her and give her agency back. It’d be very unlike Fujimoto to kill her here

If it wasn’t a ship they liked it wouldn’t be a question. Thats whats tough. I see one very specific way AsaDen endgame can work, and conceptually the ship is brilliant, but the story is making it very clear that it’s not supposed to be healthy. ESPECIALLY not from Denji to Asa.

I mostly agree with this but I am actually really fascinated by her love for Asa. I think she genuinely cares about Asa, and would be angry if Asa died, but she doesn't show Asa any intimacy or affection unless it's in a manipulative way.

I really think the story is making it blatantly obvious that the idea they can fix eachother hinges on misogynistic expectations. Women needing a man. More than anything these two need friends.
