Not implying there is some mutual exclusivity here but I greatly prefer dealing with apis and automation tooling all the way down to the machine and infrastructure level. It’s more consistent, I have all the temp workspace I could ever need, and it strongly encourages better habits keeping it sorted

On 2nd read, I think I was taking you too literally. Yeah if a password isn’t know to be compromised, then it should not be prohibited. I agree

I love how even NIST is like, 80% of the rules about passwords are dumb and counter productive. Including password history. But, how is it a bigger threat? The history is still just the hashed / salted values. So..? (And if they aren’t, then the password itself probably isn’t either ☠️)

Eeek. It’s choose your poison: artisanal (traditional vms), never ending rebuilding (containers), or this all or nothing.

Same. I screenshot so much while debugging. I have to clear them out periodically but screenshots are so invaluable. CYA and ‘I swear it was broken’ insurance.
