Lakshya airs his opinions with the confidence of somebody who has been doing his type of work much longer and more authoritatively. It's kind of off-putting.

The Republican aversion to having any role in improving the health outcomes of Americans is getting more weird and confusing as time goes on.

This is just moving the goal posts. If we're going to micro-analyze the emotional depths of various Star Wars characters, why don't we nitpick about the fact that Luke mourned his foster parents being burned alive for approximately one single shot in Episode IV?

I already have, in fact! The transformation takes place after Jyn watches the hologram message from her, father, Galen. She gains a greater appreciation for what she thought was her cold abandonment. I don't think any of this was especially subtle...

Jyn Erso goes from being a nihilist Rebel skeptic to an enthusiastic participant very clearly in the movie.

Nope. I don't think Rogue One was a masterpiece, but above all, I appreciated it because it offered some real moral ambiguity to some of the Rebel side's decisions. Previously it was just, "good side does good things always" during an ongoing interstellar war.

This response is more reassuring than the somewhat obfuscatory ones that she gave to similar questions throughout the campaign.

Purity testing on no encampment sweeps ever is insane, and stuff like that is why the DSA is of minimal relevance in this city.

What "powers that be" actually said that?

How come

Katie Wilson would "ban" most encampment sweeps? Is this something she told Bolts? She's been very careful to avoid such explicit language out on the campaign trail.

I don't think either individual did anything particularly egregious here.

These people's brains are turning into aggressive slurpee machines in real time. It'd be funny if we didn't have to share a society with them.

It's a lot of words for what essentially amounts to, "I'm willing to suffer Nazis and bigots and a malevolent chairman who actively harms the country, so long as I don't lose my followers."

In other words, moral cowardice.

Today in things you wouldn't expect a Cabinet member to have to clarify in the 21st century:

We shouldn't absolve Schumer from that $1 billion cut. He hasn't said a word since his nonchalant plan to vote for the CR and pass a separate DC budget fix failed miserably.

Yo Joey, how bad are these tariffs relative to the initial "Liberation Day' ones?
August 7, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Sorry man, that movie was silly in a bad and seemingly unintentional way.

The "capitalizing the first letter of words I deem important" writing style is like the stupid cherry on top.

Weren't you actively downplaying the likelihood of the US striking Iranian nuclear facilities?

Relatedly, people are apparently shocked that party ideologies in America were different 160 years ago.

Sounds like something that should've been passed 20 years ago...
