Assuming his research was all they removed him for (& seems likely tbh), their removing him only proves that the platform is being deliberately manipulated to amplify far right talking points and crush dissent or opposing views. Ironically they actually proved his point!

Oh I don't give a toss about a mute. The point is, as you say, following back is not obligatory; & trying to manipulate other people into followbacks, or shunning people by muting them after you had already followed them, purely because they then didn't return your follow, is very silly.

2/2 The solution is to encourage Hungary to ditch Orban ASAP and find a replacement who isn't going to shake hands with the dictator currently genociding HU's neighbour. And revise any internal EU mechanism that allows definitively bad actors to thrive in its midst without any serious sanction.

But I would argue, that the short to medium term cost of the EU dealing with Orban's fuckwittery is substantially less than the cost of allowing Russia to once again find the toehold in Europe it so badly wants. It would be the fox in the chicken coop, a red hot threat to European security. 1/2

Moreover, Hungary has a border with Ukraine, so once Putin has HU politically, UKR becomes the obvious vector to get troops into HU (again), after Putin forces HU out of NATO. So UKR now key to taking HU. You think then, with all that in place, RU will ever leave UKR alone?
