No specifics as of yet, but strike looks to be averted...

Sinegal once said that culture isn't the most important thing, it's the only thing. Workers remember that, it's time the board did too. We strike to hold those is power accountable, to secure better lives, and to maintain a culture that has made a difference in the industry from being corrupted.

Add to that the damage inflation has done to the real wage and workers, even at Costco, are making less than they did. Meanwhile, profits/stock price/ dividends soar to record levels. The new CFO from Kroger made more in total comp than the CEO who has been with the company 40 years.

This strike is mostly an internal struggle for the culture of the company. Long time workers feel the culture has changed, favoring executive pay and shareholders over workers. Costcos success over the last decade and how it rewards executives and shareholders has out paced workers pay.

It's true Obrien did speak for trump at the convention, but the Teamsters never formally endorsed a candidate, their internal politics are just as divided as the country...but one area they all agree on is workers rights and fighting for them. We are for the working class, doesn't matter the party.

Really need to not frame this as a right v left or dem v rep issue...this is workers vs owners. Workers demanding better compensation and conditions is something everyone can relate to. Don't get distracted by the DEI noise. This is a class fight for a chance at the American Dream.
