Does anyone else feel like we are watching history repeat itself but with a new spin? When do we start panicking?

Are we paying taxes this year? Will there be an IRS to process everything this tax season? For those who get a refund, will the government even pay that?

I think we should implement phone free Fridays. Give ourselves some rest from news, doom scrolling, and disassociating. Find some joy in family, friends, hobbies - anything but the absolute chaos of the political system, work, and stress.

2/ So if WWI-WWII feels too distant, consider studying a bit more recent history of Argentina in the 1970’s. We have a choice to stand by and let history repeat itself or to learn from it and do our part to make a difference. We have a choice in how things unravel.

1/ Had a conversation yesterday with someone discussing the unease I’ve been feeling since Monday. I discussed the similarities I’ve seen between the church in post WWI Germany to Christian Nationalism. They brought up the similarities to Argentina mid 70’s to early 80’s.

Now would be a really great time to take up the middle aged man’s hobby of getting TOO into WWII history. Maybe even branch out to post WWI European history up through WWII.
