This time of year is tough for me mentally but one of the things that keeps me going are the almond blossoms. I first visited Merced when they were in bloom after escaping a NJ blizzard. They are in no small part why I decided to come here.

That's likely a snowy egret, a type of heron. I see them on my walks all the time. Pic from warmer months.
