I haven't watched that yet, but intend to.

My money is at least one went to a cat avatar and claimed they couldn't get it reversed.

I will read the summary tomorrow. I never watch award shows.

It is most obvious in his "Black Widowers" series, but can be seen across his works. I had *just* found the box with most of my collection of his books (About 20 or so all told).

Ah well, back to the box and storage they will go.

I knew he was very misogynistic, you can tell trivially by actually reading his work.

I didn't know about this part.
Its pretty obvious that not everyone knows.

I have zero doubt that is where the so called Beast games is heading.
February 5, 2026 at 6:42 PM
What was very different was the lack of minor powers. Everything was explored and settled so quickly, that they just never had a chance to get established.

Next game will play with the speed settings.
February 4, 2026 at 3:20 AM
Not exactly the style of play that I prefer, but it certainly has been different than my standard settings. Interestingly the points scaled pretty well compared to a large map.
24515 versus 25000 as my usual target.

I didn't conquer the final AI until the Modern era, I was bringing tanks against line infantry (armed with muskets) with the expected results.

Result was a military victory. I was in the #1 spot from the start to the end. I adapted better than the PC players, despite their advantages.

The plan for the rest of the game, was research a useful tech militarily and then apply to capture an enemies territory.
Worked well as the Aztecs, then again as the Venetians (Traders). The Industrial era wasn't quite so good as it favours the defenders more and it showed.
We traded a lot of losses

New to me culture in the 3rd era, Aztec and yes it was to be war between us. My neighbour wasn't quite a 1 turn conquest, it took a couple of turns to cross the seas and get to his sole city.

the +2 land movement for the rest of the game was useful.
February 4, 2026 at 3:20 AM
Saw my nearest neighbours borders over the sea, but not close enough to open diplomacy.

Right at the top of the world I had a single hex transverse to an unclaimed continent and that was the focus for my Roman era. This went down the far side of my neighbour.

Listeria, E Coli.

You can bet the raw milk drinkers are anti-vax so likely at the forefront of Brucellosis reintroduction.

TB as well.

How anyone who is even remotely near to farm cows would think this is safe is beyond me.
Farms are quite literally full of shit, and it gets everywhere.

Wait until he learns that its possible to win a NFL game after time has expired, having never lead during the game.

My father had one of those, I drank most of it about 89/90.

He didn't care for Bell's whisky but he collected unusual bottles.

I got more refined in my whisky tastes during my student days in Scotland

Maybe three ducks in a trenchcoat.

Has anyone mentioned the Southern Wrap Around Porch yet ?

No way he gets my vote, or any support whatsoEVER in the primary.

Transphobia is just one of the many problems, but its a big one.

I'm old enough to remember Peter Beardsley (a top English forward) playing in goal on match. I don't recall if the keeper was sent off or injured, but pre-replacement keeper on the bench days.
February 1, 2026 at 3:12 PM
I have this on GOG, and just like Civ6 on Epic, I will never get anything like these moddable games anywhere but Steam in the future.

The leaning cliff to download and use mods in non-steam set-ups is ridiculous.
February 1, 2026 at 1:58 AM
Picked up a few more Roman badges/achievements along the way.

Never actually fought another Great power, though at times all of them were #SoMad with me.

Just the tribes and that gave me enough room, though I was close to war with Huttusa at game end.
