I live in a 1980s house built by one of Edmonton's first green builders. We have an exposed beam on the main floor that was a tree they had to remove from the yard to build the house. I love this so much!

But also just instant hangover with symptoms as you described above. A couple sips and instantly have a headache, nausea, etc.

Main thing I have observed in myself and others, is experiencing drunkenness after a small amount of alcohol. unsteady walking after one beer for me. slurring words after one drink in others.
