I love you so very much Mom. I can’t believe that you have been gone for two months already and that we can’t be together today. I hope these flowers still make you smile. You will always be my best friend. Your warmth helped me grow and your love gives me hope. Rest easy until we are together again

On top of the devastation I am already feeling. I got home from the hospital to see that the new Jason Isbell album came in and I am not sure I can listen to this yet.

I will pass down all of our special traditions no matter how silly they are: From whipped cream fights on Thanksgiving, to the Birthday Bird, all the way down to our goodnight rituals from when I was a little boy.

There are not enough words to describe how perfect of a Mom I have but one of my greatest sorrows will be that you never got to be a grandma like she wanted. One day she will be and her grandchildren will know how loved they are and how special of a grandmother they have.

Mom never acted in such a way, but Mom was better than they could have ever dreamed of being. She made it through countless instances of harassment and death threats for being a women in a “Good Ole Boys” world. Mom wasn’t scared though.

She operated a construction company, was a real estate broker, a personal trainer and bodybuilder, caregiver for her grandfather, and would make the most beautiful wedding and birthday cakes on the side, all while homeschooling my older brother and myself. (Yes, all of this at the same time)

She was able make her way through life with people underestimating her and she would always prove them wrong.

LONG EMOTIONAL THREAD:

I want to talk about my mother and best friend, Tina Tuggle. It breaks my heart to say that she passed away last night at the age of 57. She was diagnosed with Carcinoid Tumors in her liver in August and just 6 months to the day, she entered the hospital.

You’ve heard of Metta World Peace, but have you heard of Meta Cognition?
