And my first vote was against Reagan. So tell me how the joy over this man's murder is going to contribute to improving the "gun culture" in the US? Maybe this is an opportunity to talk to the people on the other side who may be taking this one seriously for a change? Just a thought.

You don't even know what the motive was. If Thompson was shot because he was dating the shooter's ex-wife, would that be ok? At what job level is it ok to be gunned down in the street for any reason?

Yeah. And we call it "gun violence" which last I heard was something most people up here want to reduce. If it were anyone else, we'd be seeing outrage from the left. This is one of the most hypocritical things I have ever seen.

And replace it with a "system" of people with guns stalking company executives? Because that's what you're going to get if you reward this behavior. Talk to your legislators if you want change. That's how this is supposed to work. Gunning down Thompson cannot possibly improve anything.

No it will not. What you're going to get is increased security and lots of PR. The only people the next CEO is going to listen to are his stockholders, just like the last one. If he doesn't, his Board of Directors will replace him with someone who does. That's how this works.

The beginnings? We've been complaining about this for decades. Talk to your legislators. Thompson is going to be replaced by the same people and process that put him there in the first place. There is zero incentive to change here and a lot of incentive to continue business as usual.

Nothing can possibly improve as a result of this. No one is going to reward a vigilante murder or even appear to. Does anyone think that United wants to send a message that murdering their executives is going to get more claims approved? Expect a big PR push at most.

Anyone who thinks murdering Brian Thompson is going to get us even one step closer to positive change is nuts. NO ONE is going to publicly reward vigilante justice. That's insane. Expect lots of security for executives and a big PR push at most. Nothing good can possibly come from this.
