-almost like the choice is already made for me now. What happens if I don’t take that photo? Maybe there’s a balance or method to the madness? Either way, I feel like I can’t experience things how they’re supposed to be; the “in the moment”ness isn’t there, and most of the time the desire isn’t

I’m not saying these technologies are bad, but surely they’ve had some effect on our desire to experience things anymore.
I understand there’s plenty of other factors involving this type of thing, availability of the tech, social media, etc. but damn. I just can’t help but feel-

-at any time later? Why take in the experience anymore of rolling down the window? I don’t need to in order to get a good memory of it, hell I don’t need to EVEN remember it anymore. My phone will always have it there for me, for whenever I need to reminisce.

…so then furthering my point, where’s the motivation for young adults or anyone to go out and do anything anymore?
Why would I even wanna look out the window at the pretty scenery along the road trip, raw with my own eyes.. when I can just snap a photo or two with my 8K Samsung phone and view it-

Back then, why would I want to watch some camcorder tape of someone else going to a live concert? If it’s in 480p and the audio isn’t even that good, then there’s no benefit over going to the concert in person, is there? Nowadays, I can just watch it in 4K on YouTube with amazing headphone audio.

But now, my iPhone is so high resolution, that there’s no point in having the experience of picking up the paper every morning and holding it up or taking it with you under your coat in the rain on the way into work.. because in the end it’s the same quality and without the hassle.

Put it this way. 35 years ago, if you were even able to find your local newspaper online, with your 480p CRT monitor trying to read the paper on a half-baked website with flickering pixels.. wouldn’t reading the actual paper, the paper you can hold in your hands, be easier and more enjoyable?

I feel like there has got to be some, although likely very minute, effect that if every video, article, etc we see on our phones and if every photo we take on our phones is indiscernible from simply just looking with our eyes, then why bother looking at all in the first place?
